Senior Service Design Strategist

The Senior Service Design Strategist is responsible for supporting our Innovation leadership in the design, development, and continuous improvement of our core offering—the Dream Director service. This service places full-time Dream Directors in high schools across America, armed with tools and experiences to turn the schools into places where young people explore their passions and purpose and prepare for their futures. As a skilled designer and creative leader, this role will be responsible for leading a team to optimize the experience that our students and schools have with the Dream Director, focusing on both our program model and the tools and products we equip Dream Directors with to be successful.


Our Senior Service Design Strategist will:

  • Manage a team of designers, strategists, and content experts to build high quality tools and experiences for students and Dream Directors
  • Work with leadership to set an annual design agenda and to revise and improve upon the agenda quarterly
  • Provide creative and strategic direction to our design team for features of the service and individual products
  • Facilitate creative sessions and our design and development process, running product sprints and development and testing cycles with the team and our students
  • Ensure internal and external research fully informs the product development cycle to generate the highest impact products and service

  • You have worked in the field of service/product design for 3-5 years;
  • You have experience in designing products and experiences that have both physical and digital components (but you prefer physical!);
  • You are proudly left and right brained—you are a creative that knows how to implement and execute process;
  • You have experience leading cross-functional teams that integrate design, marketing, research, and more—and you love bringing out the best in people;
  • You have experience translating research—both from our users and the world—into products and services;
  • You are a strong writer with knack for talking the same language as your customer;
  • You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and can provide creative direction to our graphic designers;
  • You have a demonstrated passion for and commitment to young people, schools, and the future.
